With the playoffs quickly approaching, the Maple Leafs are dealing with critical injuries.
Max Domi is suffering from an injury, according to Maple Leafs writer Mark Masters before practice on April 15. It is unclear how he will do in the opening playoff game.”I don’t think that was necessarily the case, but he’s been dealing with something, and he felt it wouldn’t affect his ability to play,” Keefe said to Masters.
In order to be ready for the start of the playoffs, Domi is not anticipated to play in either of the last two regular season games. In addition to Domi, Bobby McMann is sidelined for the final two games of the regular season due to an injury, and it’s unclear if he will be available for the start of the playoffs.
Regarding McMann, Keefe stated, “We’ll see where he’s at as that approaches. We’ve got a week here before we get going.”Calle Jarnkrok, a forward for Toronto, is the team’s last injury. He is recovering from a hand injury and participated in practice. Keefe is dubious, though, that he will be prepared for the postseason to begin.
Though it’s still early, I believe he’s more in a daily situation. Regretfully, we’re out of time here,” Keefe remarked of Jarnkrok. Toronto’s only silver lining is that defenseman Joel Edmundson, who might return as soon as April 16, looked well in practice.
In the opening round, who will the Toronto Maple Leafs play?
Though that is not certain, Toronto is expected to play the Florida Panthers in the opening round of the playoffs. In the Atlantic Division, the Panthers trail the Boston Bruins by one point, but the Bruins still have one game remaining. Thus, the Bruins secure first place in the division if Boston wins one of their final two games or if Florida loses their last game, sending the Panthers to play Toronto in the first round.
If Florida advances past the Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs, it will be a replay of the playoffs from the previous year, when the Panthers defeated Toronto in five games in the second round.
“You have to establish the tone for that series when you’re playing a club you might meet in the playoffs. We need to be on par with them since I know they’ll try to do the same in their barn. Ryan Reaves informed Masters, “We have to surpass that.
Hunting for the 70th goal is Auston Matthews.
As Toronto secures the third seed in the Atlantic Division, Maple Leafs supporters are concentrating on Auston Matthews’ quest for seventy goals. With 69 goals this season, Matthews is aiming to become the first NHL player to score 70 goals since Teemu Selanne and Alexander Moginly did so in the 1992โ93 campaign.
Matthews will have two more games to attempt to complete the feat against Tampa Bay on April 17 and Florida on April 16 in Toronto.
