Miami Secures Transfer of Running Back Rodney Hill from Florida State
Hill reopened his recruitment after Wilson Simmons chose to become the running backs coach at Duke, having previously committed to Florida A&M in the early stages of the transfer process. Moving even farther south, he will now join a highly good Miami running back room.
During his tenure at Florida State, Hill played in just 14 games but amassed 334 running yards and two touchdowns. With 83 yards on five receptions this past season, Hill a former three-star recruit also showed promise as a receiving option.
With three years remaining on his eligibility, the redshirt freshman is going to Miami. According to CanesInsight, he will be a walk-on and won’t accept a scholarship.
Ajay Allen, Henry Parrish Jr., and Mark Fletcher Jr. are among the running backs that Hill joins. Hill will have an opportunity to participate in this deep running back rotation to go along with one of the more outstanding offensive lines in the country.
With this transfer, Miami’s transfer portal class now has 10 players overall, following the commitment of Washington safety Michael Powell.Miami is still very much involved in the portal as they try to complete their roster in order to put together a team that might contend for an ACC Championship in Cristobal’s third season, centered around Cam Ward.
