MLB rumors: Blake Snell finalists, Braves running out of excuses, and a major move for the Red Sox impending
Why, then, should the typical MLB fan give a damn? That response is really easy to understand. With a few very rare exceptions, MLB owners are profitable. Let them not convince you differently. Liberty Media is no different, thus it’s even more puzzling that they haven’t signed Max Fried to a contract.
Fried, who is barely over 30 years old, is among the top pitchers in baseball. He doesn’t rely too much on his velocity, which will undoubtedly decrease with age. Fried is, if anything, about as safe a pick as it gets on the other side of thirty. However, it appears like the Braves will let the CAA client go.
West Coast native Fried has already established ties with the Angels, or worst, the Dodgers. It would be devastating if Fried were to depart from Atlanta and join his old comrade Freddie Freeman in Atlanta’s main battle for an NL pennant, but it is a real possibility.
