Rivals Newcastle supplied the perfect £18 million transfer fix for Chelsea and Manchester United.
By acquiring Newcastle striker Callum Wilson, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal may try to address their problems in front of goal. In an effort to adhere to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the Magpies are rumored to be thinking about making a move on the England international before the winter transfer window ends.
Wilson, 31, joined Newcastle in September 2020 for a reported £20 million from Bournemouth. In 102 games for the big east club, Wilson scored 46 goals. Nevertheless, the striker’s time on Tyneside was marred by injuries, and because of Alexander Isak’s outstanding play, he is no longer assured a regular starting spot.
Wilson was only selected in Eddie Howe’s starting lineup 21 times in the previous season, meaning that he has only started seven Premier League games this year. However, the player has had little trouble locating the net’s back.
Wilson scored eighteen Premier League goals the previous season and has already scored seven goals this season. He could solve some of the present issues confronting some of the best teams in England, since he obviously understands where the back of the net is.
The Evening Standard claims that Wilson might be had for as little as £18 million. His availability has been shared with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal, all of which are eager to recruit a striker.
Chelsea did not score in five of their first sixteen Premier League games this season, but they have improved recently, moving up to ninth place in the standings after winning 12 of their past five games.
United, on the other hand, has struggled mightily in front of goal, managing only 24 goals in 21 league games this year. After the club paid Atalanta £72 million for Rasmus Hojlund’s services, the player arrived at Old Trafford amid great fanfare last summer. However, in the Premier League, the Denmark international has only been able to register two goals.
