Packers Stand a Genuine Chance to Win the NFC North After Lions’ Lose to the Bears
GREEN BAY, Wisconsin: The Green Bay Packers have had an incredible turnaround, going from being a possible top-five draft pick to holding a playoff spot and even having a chance to win the NFC North.
The Detroit Lions were stunned 28-13 by the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday while the Packers were on their way to play the Giants in New York on Monday night. The Lions battled back to lead 13-10 at halftime, but the Beras dominated the second half thanks to touchdown passes of 38 yards from Justin Field to D.J. Moore and 11 yards from Fields.
The formidable Detroit offensive line, which saw its dominance shut down by the Packers in a pivotal Thanksgiving game, managed just 267 yards overall and went just 1 of 5 on fourth downs.
The Lions are now 9-4 after dropping two of their previous three games. The Giants, who are 4-8 but have won two of their last three games and are coming off a bye, will play the Packers on Monday night at 6-6 after the Packers have won three straight.
With a victory over New York, Green Bay would raise its record to 7-6 and close in on Detroit, which hasn’t won a division title since taking home the NFC Central in 1993. This year’s race’s pivotal games will take place in Weeks 16, 17, and 18.
