Panthers reach a safety agreement. Nick Scott
Prior to playing his final season with the Bengals, he played his first four years at Penn State, where he was originally selected by the Rams in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
With four interceptions in his 81 games played, he has started 27 of them and provides them with a reliable backup to former Rams teammate Jordan Fuller.
In reality, he started in lieu of Fuller in the 2021 postseason lineup following Fuller’s injury, and he recorded a pick in a playoff victory over the Buccaneers. In 2019, he also caught his sole career reception, a 23-yard pass from punter and former colleague Johnny Hekker. That is something in his favor.
This offseason, the Panthers have leaned heavily on familiarity, since cornerback Dane Jackson was a seventh-round pick of the Bills when general manager Dan Morgan was in the scouting department there. Additionally, additions A’Shawn Robinson, Josey Jewell, and Fuller have all played for Evero at some point.
