Rams Release Statement With regard to Shooting at Super Bowl Parade
Sadly, one person was killed and over twenty others, including children, were injured when gunmen opened fire. As reported by NBC News, three individuals have been placed under arrest by Kansas City police officers.
The Chiefs and the citizens of Kansas have the best wishes of the entire NFL community, and the Los Angeles Rams are no different. The Rams posted a succinct social media expression of support shortly after the incident.
“The awful and senseless violence that occurred today breaks our hearts. We are praying for the victims, their families, and the people of Kansas City.”Officials do not think the attack was terrorist in nature, although no motive has been stated.
Less than an hour ago, Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas provided an update on the situation, saying, in part, “That’s what happens with guns.”
“But in a matter of seconds, not just one or two lives, but almost a dozen can be changed by someone who wants to disrupt anything, someone who wants to create any kind of situation, or someone who is just plain reckless,” Lucas stated. And thinking about it in the world today worries me far more as a parent because, to me, that is just awful.
