Trade rumors involving Pascal Siakam: Pacers, Kings, Hawks Trade rumors surrounding Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam are getting more and more heated.
Since Siakam and Anunoby are both in their last year of contracts, they have both been heavily involved in trade rumors this winter.
Siakam and the Hawks have been associated prior to the 2023–24 season. According to August reports from Shams Charania of The Athletic, Atlanta made an effort to acquire the veteran during the summer and was prepared to part with De’Andre Hunter, AJ Griffin, and draft compensation in order to do so.
While Aaron Nesmith and Obi Toppin have been excellent for the Pacers this season, it is understandable that they are considering Siakam’s addition given that they are in the running for a postseason berth for the first time since the 2019–20 season.
Siakam would undoubtedly help Indiana advance to the postseason given that the lineup already features Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner.
Although the Kings have performed well this year as well, they may be able to make a deep playoff run with Siakam joining De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. Last season, the Kings were eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the first round.
Siakam is having yet another excellent season. He has played in Toronto for his entire eight-year career. Across 24 games, he’s averaging 21.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while shooting 25.3 percent from beyond the arc and 50.4 percent from the floor.
The 29-year-old is qualified to sign a $202.3 million, four-year contract extension. But if he makes the All-NBA team this year, he could be qualified for a five-year supermax contract, which would be worth about $340 million.
