Which Ravens Fans Should Support During Super Wild Card Weekend?
The Ravens received a first-round bye and are presently 1-0 in the playoffs. While Baltimore (13-4) prepares for the Divisional Round, six AFC teams will fight it out during Super Wild Card Weekend.
The Texans (No. 4), Browns (No. 5), Dolphins (No. 6), or Steelers (No. 7) are the four potential divisional round opponents left by the Ravens. The lowest-seeded AFC club that prevails in the wild card round will play the Ravens. In the regular season, Baltimore has participated in all four games at least once. For the three games, Ravens supporters should think about the following:
Houston Texans (10-7) at. Cleveland Browns (11-6)
NBC on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
The 38-year-old Joe Flacco-led Browns and the 22-year-old C.J. Stroud-led Texans are engaged in a battle of the ages. Although it would be their first meeting with Stroud, the Browns defeated the Texans 36–22 in their regular season meeting.
Supporters of the Browns should support for them if they want to see Flacco return to Baltimore during the postseason. Supporters who tremble at the prospect of taking on “January Joe” ought to cheer for Houston. Under head coach DeMeco Ryans’ first season, the Texans are a youthful club. Earlier in the season, the Browns defeated the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.
Kansas City Chiefs (11-6) vs. Miami Dolphins (11-6)
Saturday, NBC & Peacock, 8:00 p.m.
With home field advantage and a forecast that promises to be among the coldest games ever played at Arrowhead Stadium in NFL history, No. 3 Kansas City hopes to defeat Miami. When the two teams last faced off in Week 9 in Germany, the Chiefs prevailed.
The last time all of the starters played, the Ravens crushed the Dolphins, 56-19, but a victory in Kansas City and the return of a few important offensive players might give Miami hope. Although the Chiefs offensive hasn’t been great this season, they still have a solid defense and Patrick Mahomes, who is a threat at all times. They might be removed off the Ravens’ way by the Dolphins.
Buffalo Bills (11-6) at. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7)
ABC & CBS, 1:00 p.m. on Sunday
After defeating the Ravens’ reserves, the Steelers advanced to the postseason. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch, so Pittsburgh will attempt to use its defense and a strong rushing game to grind out the win. Without TJ Watt, the Steelers will once again start backup quarterback Mason Rudolph.
Along with the Ravens, the No. 2 Bills concluded as one of the league’s hottest teams despite experiencing an unpredictable postseason run. If the Ravens overcome the Bills, they will play the Steelers as the lowest-remaining seed. If both teams advance to the AFC Championship, Baltimore cannot play Buffalo until then.
