OWINGS MILLS, Maryland After being the subject of a domestic abuse probe earlier this year, wide receiver Zay Flowers of the Baltimore Ravens will not face disciplinary action from the NFL, the league announced in a statement on Thursday.
“Following a review, the NFL concluded there was insufficient evidence to support a finding that Zay Flowers engaged in any activity that violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy,” according to the NFL. “There will be no action taken by the league and Flowers remains eligible to participate in all team activities.
The domestic abuse investigation involving Flowers, who was never charged, was halted by Baltimore County Police two months prior to this judgment. On January 16, in Owings Mills, Maryland, the claimed incident took place. A woman claimed she was involved in a “violent” domestic dispute with an NFL player, which was documented in the police report. The player’s brother pulled a revolver on her, she told police.
Through 77 receptions and 858 receiving yards last season, Flowers, 23, set rookie marks for the Ravens. An year ago, he was selected with the 22nd pick in the NFL draft.
