Developers for Palworld Issue a Warning After a New Bug Deletes Players’ Save Data
A message on the official Palworld Discord channel states that there is a problem with the Xbox version of the v0.2.0.6 update, namely with “multiplayer player save data not being loaded correctly when multiplayer save data from an older version is loaded.”
After confirming that it has located the source of the issue, Pocket Pair is developing a hotfix to remedy the bug and make earlier multiplayer saves playable. Xbox users are asked to wait to load “affected save data” until the upcoming fix is released, per the studio’s request.
Palworld on Xbox is unable to have a break.
Even worse for the Xbox community of Palworld, Pocket Pair alerts users to the fact that once the studio issues the hotfix for the aforementioned flaw, any multiplayer save data made after the release of the v0.2.0.6 Update will be permanently lost. It may be best to postpone starting a new game with friends in order to avoid losing any progress when facing the new Raid Boss Bellanoir. Though this is undoubtedly annoying, it’s important to remember that, in contrast to the PC version, the Xbox version of Palworld has frequently encountered teething issues.
Palworld’s PC and Xbox versions differed greatly from one another, as gamers soon found out when the game originally came out. Both games had the same material and could be played independently, although the Xbox Series X|S version of the game ran a little bit poorer and missing several essential UI features, such a quit button. With time, many problems have been resolved, and although patches for Xbox users arrive later than for PC users, the versions are essentially the same, with the exception of the most current flaw.
It’s unclear if the v0.2.0.6 Update will be sufficient to entice players to return to Palworld, considering how drastically the game’s community has declined in recent months. A Raid Boss, multiple new structures, and more craftable goods will probably please devoted fans, but it’s unclear if they’ll attract lapsed players given the drastic 97% decline in the player base. Since the game is currently under early access, more will probably be added when it officially launches as version 1.0.
