Bangkok accurately warns residents three hours in advance of impending weather using AI weather forecasts.
According to Bangkok’s governor, flooding is a serious issue in the city. We will be able to better prepare if the location of the heavy rain event can be identified ahead of time. We currently have AI and supercomputer technologies in addition to our partnership with Japan’s Weathernews Inc. (2023), a company that tracks and forecasts weather using technology.
At two locations, Nong Khaem Radar Station and Nong Chok Radar Station, the current Bangkok radar may be improved to function better by using artificial intelligence (AI) to forecast and evaluate the environment. This allows the radar to predict rain three hours in advance. Bangkok has made headway in preparing for severe rain and flooding by being able to provide warnings and prepare tools and equipment.
A project by Weathernews Inc. will be released on Facebook that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to forecast the weather ahead of time. Weathernews Inc.’s content posted on Facebook and websites run by Weathernews Inc.’s DDS will be utilized by DDS. It offers early warning to deal with circumstances involving heavy rain and enhances operating efficiency by working as closely as possible with the BMA Drainage Bureau to accomplish shared objectives.
Weathernews Inc. will develop and run a 24/7 real-time weather website for DDS as part of web publishing, where users can easily access and watch content. Systems must be designed to withstand the amount of users and access during bad weather. The budget is still being processed at this time.
