At 11:41, Sissons started the scoring. He positioned himself in front of the goal during the power play and expertly blocked Filip Forsberg’s waist-high point shot. At 7:03 of the second, Sissons doubled Nashville’s lead with his ninth of the year. Sissons was in position for a long rebound opportunity after Dante Fabbro’s shot was blocked during a flurry of activity in the offensive zone during which the Predators applied pressure.
Sissons has a good chance of exceeding his career-high 15 goals. With 35 seconds left in the second, Allen gave the Canadiens a much-needed offensive boost. His attempt to pass was blocked in a rush, but he recovered possession in the slot and scored his second goal of the season with a long backhand shot.
