Drua’s lack of discipline and bad away form still plague her.
Jones Koroiduadua was also given a red card for shaking his head, completely disregarding the safety of the players. This was prior to Leone Rotuisolia being sent off for a high shot on Carter Gordon, which cost the team the match. The Drua’s flawless and ferocious start to the game was for nothing, as their dismal away performance in the league persists.
During the second stint, it was clear that the players were frustrated because they were unable to maintain their strong start in the contest. The players have continued to exhibit indiscipline each week when things have been difficult, so coach Mick Byrne will have his work cut out for him.
Selesitino Ravutumada, a winger, was also lost to injury for the team after he failed his head injury assessment during the second stint.
The Drua got off to a great start when Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula converted a penalty. Lomani, Apisalome Vota, and Rotuisolia then scored tries. Jordan Uelese and Angelo Smith helped the Rebels respond, but the Drua led 20–15 at the half.
The Rebels quickly destroyed the Drua attempts in the second half, thanks to tries by Glen Vaihu (brace) and Fijian newcomer Maciu Nabolakasi. With the team leading 34–20, Filipo Daugunu added a try for his outstanding contribution by smashing through the Drua.
Next weekend is a bye for the Drua before they take on the Hurricanes in Suva on April 19 at 7:05 p.m.
