The Pittsburgh Steelers have appointed Arthur Smith as their new offensive coordinator.
Arthur Smith, who was sacked as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons after two seasons, is currently en route to Pittsburgh to take over for Matt Canada, who was fired this season.
Smith ran the offense brilliantly for the Tennessee Titans before exploding this season, earning him an invitation to become Atlanta’s head coach.
This hiring most likely signifies the Steelers’ intention to restore their reputation as a run-first, smash-mouth football club.
Play-by-play During Smith’s tenure with the Titans, two of his most effective offensive techniques were passing off the run game and running the ball through Derrick Henry.
It’s not a bad addition for the Steelers, who want to build on their 2023 postseason success, considering their current roster.
