AFC Defensive Player of the Year Award goes to T.J. Watt.
In addition to producing 68 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 36 quarterback hits, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, eight passes defended, an interception, and a score, Watt led the league in sacks with 19, which was also his second-highest total of his career.
Watt becomes the third player to win the AFC DPOY title three times in their career, joining Alan Paige (three), Reggie White (three), Ray Lewis (three), Bruce Smith (three), Aaron Donald (four), and J.J. Watt (four). And in 2020 and 2021, he triumphed.
Along with Joe Greene, Mel Blount, Jack Lambert, Rod Woodson, Greg Lloyd, Carnell Lake, James Harrison, and Troy Polamalu, he is the eighth Steelers player to receive the honor. A nationwide selection committee of 101 members of the media who cover the NFL makes the award selections.
Watt is a first-team all-pro and Pro Bowl pick in addition to his DPOY award. Additionally, he was chosen as the Steelers’ MVP for this season by his teammates. To get the most recent information, access to exclusive interviews, movie analyses, and much more, bookmark All Steelers!
