Jeremy Pruitt Talks About Michael Penix Jr.’s Allegations
Michael Penix Jr., the quarterback for the Washington Huskies, had a remarkable two seasons at the University of Washington. This past season, he helped the team win its first national title in the College Football Playoff era. The Heisman runner-up was formerly committed to play college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He is currently expected to be selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
But Jeremy Pruitt, the Tennessee head coach at the time, made a different decision following a coaching change at Tennessee a few weeks before to early national signing day. A few days before ENSD, Penix announced his departure from the Vols on Twitter. Penix committed to the University of Indiana, where he showed promise but had several setbacks before to moving to Washington.
Pruitt described how things went down from his viewpoint during an interview with Dawg Nation.
“That is untrue; his left-handedness had no bearing on anything. The reality is that, to be very honest, after seeing the tape, we all felt that, even at the age of seventeen, he wasn’t talented enough. Science isn’t flawless. But now that you can see him, he is a grown man, two inches taller and thirty pounds heavier. It’s worked out wonderfully, so I’m glad for him.” Jeremy Pruitt, speaking about Michael Penix Jr.
