Star player for the Philadelphia 76ers Kyle Lowry had stitches after suffering a severe head injury during his team’s debut against the Knicks.
When play began for the first time since the All-Star break, the 76ers lost to the New York Knicks 110-96, but Lowry also took a hard hit to the head.
When Lowry tried to get position on New York’s big man for a rebound, Knicks center Jericho Sims elbowed him in the forehead. With nine minutes and twenty-four seconds left in the second quarter, he had to leave the game to receive medical attention for a cut on his face.
After nine minutes and thirty seconds of play, Lowry had tallied four points, two assists, and a rebound before suffering the bump on his head. Later in the match, Lowry returned to the game wearing a bandage over his head after receiving sutures.
