Ravens won’t be using Mark Andrews’ injured reserve status: TE will miss the Texans playoff game on Saturday.
By adding defensive back Ar’Darius Washington and receiver Devin Duvernay to the active roster and filling both unfilled positions, the team essentially made that official.
The Week 11 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals resulted in an ankle injury for Andrews. As previously reported by NFL Media, he had an ankle ligament damage as well as a fractured fibula. Although it was first believed that Andrews’ injury would finish his season, he has been putting forth a lot of effort to return to the postseason.
In practice on Tuesday, he was restricted, but on Wednesday and Thursday, he was fully involved. He was officially labeled as doubtful to play against Houston. Andrews may be eligible to play in the AFC Championship if the Ravens win this weekend.
Andrews has appeared in 10 games this season, catching 45 catches for 544 yards and six touchdowns. In Andrews’ stead, Isaiah Likely has shown a discernible improvement. Likely caught 21 catches for 322 yards and five touchdowns in the six games that followed Andrews’ injury.
Although Andrews’ health was “still up in the air,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh expressed encouragement about his involvement in practice earlier this week. In the end, the Ravens don’t think he’s prepared to play again just yet.
