The best chance for Michigan to qualify for the College Football Playoffs is given by ESPN.
It’s no secret that ESPN these days doesn’t pique the attention of Michigan supporters, and that’s very understandable.
Leading figures on the network have been spearheading the attempt to ruin Michigan’s season for a number of weeks. Paul Finebaum, who can’t seem to keep Michigan out of his mouth, has called for Michigan to be barred from the College Football Playoff, while Stephen A. Smith has stated time and time again that the Wolverines should not be allowed to play in the Big Ten Championship game.
ESPN’s playoff predictor currently offers the Michigan Wolverines the greatest chance in the nation to qualify for the College Football Playoffs, regardless of your feelings against some of the most vocal voices on that network.

- Ohio State: 64 percent
- Georgia: 53 percent
- Alabama: 41 percent

The Wolverines held their standing of No. 3 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings, even after their convincing road victory over No. 10 Penn State in Happy Valley. Georgia went up to the top, and Ohio State dropped to the number two place.
The Wolverines’ next game against Ohio State, which is in just ten days, is already one of the most anticipated between the two rivals in recent memory, despite the fact that they must take care of business this weekend in College Park against Maryland.
In addition to having two teams that are among the top four in the College Football Playoff rankings, “The Game” will take place against a backdrop that includes accusations of sign-stealing, the possibility that Ryan Day was the driving force behind the Michigan Football program’s investigation, charges that both programs have engaged in dubious behavior in recent years, and the likelihood that Jim Harbaugh will not be on the sidelines.
Although the Buckeyes had defeated the Wolverines in the previous 20 years, Michigan has won two straight decisively in 2021 and 2022, and they will want to carry on that winning streak on November 25 in Ann Arbor.
