A productive tight end from Stanford named Benjamin Yurosek has committed to Georgia, where he will challenge Brock Bowers.
Before a season marred by injuries in 2023 derailed his career aspirations, graduate transfer Yurosek was regarded as a potential pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He finished with 92 receptions for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns in 23 games, starting and finishing among the best tight ends in the nation in 2021–2022.
In 2021, he finished third among tight ends in power conferences with 15.3 yards per reception. Yurosek had a career-best performance in a game against Hawaii on October 13, catching nine passes for 138 yards and a score. However, he ended up missing the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury.
Yurosek should have no trouble doing his part at Georgia, and there’s a good chance that his draft stock will rise once more. The Bulldogs got more out of the tight end position than almost any other school in the nation, as seen by Bowers successful career. The two-time Mackey Award winner amassed 2,538 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in his three years at Georgia—far more than any other tight end in that span.
In 2023, Bowers recorded 11 of his 14 career carries. The Bulldogs also used Bowers as a powerful blocker during running plays. Bowers’ job out of the backfield is one that Yurosek should be familiar with.

Georgia rarely uses the transfer portal, but head coach Kirby Smart is looking through the collegiate ranks this offseason to find additional weapons for his attack. Prior to the 2024 campaign, Yurosek becomes the seventh overall and fifth offensive weapon to join the Bulldogs.
Among those signing are three wide receivers, led by former Vanderbilt standout London Humphreys, who finished 2023 ranked as the No. 15 overall transfer prospect and the No. 4 wide receiver following his successful season as a true freshman with 439 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The 6-foot-3 speedster should be able to spread the field for Georgia’s seasoned quarterback, Carson Beck.
