Patrick Mahomes takes a shot at Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins on Instagram after leading the Chiefs to victory over Buffalo in his first road playoff game: “Well done.”
Following his team’s victory over the Buffalo Bills in Sunday’s divisional playoff game, Patrick Mahomes responded to Dion Dawkins on Instagram.
After they triumphed 27–24 away from home, Mahomes celebrated the win with two photos on Instagram. Mahomes may be seen celebrating in the first picture and scouting the opponent throughout the game in the second.
On January 18, Dawkins said that Mahomes wasn’t prepared for the intense atmosphere of his first road playoff game and wished him luck. “[Mahomes has] only been here once,” Dawkins said to ESPN. He has never been here, then. As easy as that.
He spoke firmly, “This is the most dopest feeling I’ve ever had,” summarizing Buffalo’s playoff atmosphere. We have two consecutive home playoff games. Come on, act like we’re about to head out and grab some wings. It’s awesome. So, best of luck.
Mahomes put on a standout effort to win, so he didn’t need the good fortune. With no interceptions, the two-time MVP of the Super Bowl completed 17 of 23 throws for 215 yards and two touchdowns.
Late in the fourth quarter, Buffalo had a chance to take the lead, but Tyler Bass missed a field goal that would have given Kansas City the victory. Josh Allen, the quarterback, led Buffalo’s losing effort by scoring one touchdown through throwing and two through rushing.
After the victory, Mahomes praised the excitement generated by the Bills supporters and said that they came into the game with a point to prove.
“This setting is fantastic,” Mahomes said. “We’ve been hearing about playing a road game all week, man.” Our purpose in being here was to demonstrate our versatility and prove a point.
The Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins in the wild card round after finishing the regular season with an 11-6 record and first place in the AFC West. They will play the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship on Sunday after defeating Buffalo.
