Tyrese Hampton shines as the Indiana Pacers defeat the Milwaukee Bucks in the third quarter thanks to a clutch hit by Blitz.
In helping his team win their fifth straight game and their fourth in five meetings with Milwaukee this season, the guard finished with 31 points and 12 assists. The Bucks and Pacers play the San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks, respectively, next.
With a stellar performance, Tyrese Haliburton helped the Indiana Pacers win their fifth straight game, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 142-130. This is the 18th time this season that the all-star guard has scored at least 20 points and tallied double digits in assists. He concluded the game with 31 points and 12 assists.
With a 3-1 record against Milwaukee this season, Indiana now leads the Bucks 68-66 at the half. However, the Pacers’ third-quarter onslaught put the Bucks out of sight. Haliburton then demanded that his team play more consistently in the same manner against the Bucks.
When you face good teams, as a young bunch, Haliburton believed, you should try to be as ready as possible for them. But maintaining that competitiveness and being willing to play in games other than those versus the Bucks, in my opinion, is a necessary component of this group’s development.
The Bucks were leading at the half of a thrilling match at Gainbridge Fieldhouse as they attempted to recover from the Pacers’ previous loss, which ended their 15-game home winning run.
Together with Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton contributing 23 and 19 points apiece, Giannis Antetokounmpo extended his impressive streak of play with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists for the Milwaukee Bucks.
But nobody could stop the Pacers, who opened up an insurmountable 113-97 lead by winning the third quarter 47-29.
The Pacers sealed the win as the Bucks came within ten points in the fourth but were never able to get back on track.
“I would simply say that we performed a good job of delving and obtaining stops when necessary,” Haliburton continued. We are an extremely difficult squad to beat when we play in transition.
With a record of 24-10, the Bucks are three spots ahead of the Pacers (19-14) in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
Conversely, the Sacramento Kings held on to defeat the Orlando Magic 138โ135 in double overtime. 38 points were scored by Malik Monk, and Domantas Sabonis recorded a triple-double (22-12-23). Other victories included the New Orleans Pelicans handing the Minnesota Timberwolves their second straight loss and the New York Knicks defeating the Chicago Bulls.
His former team, the Miami Heat, easily defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 110-96 despite LeBron James scoring just 12 points. Now ranked 10th in the Western Conference, it was the Lakers’ ninth defeat in a row. Also triumphing over the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons, respectively, were the LA Clippers and Utah Jazz.
