NOTEBOOK: LB Rookie Jack Campbell is prepared to defend the Lions.
“He’s a true MIKE backer. And he has to be the one that makes all those checks and he’s capable of doing that. “Smart, heady guy that’s tough. He’s built for these moments. I’m looking forward for him to be the actual mouthpiece of the defense going into this game.”
Following his selection by the Lions with the 18th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, Campbell has made seven starts in his first 11 games of the season. He has made 51 tackles, two stops for a loss, a sack, and a pass defense, though he still needs to improve in that particular area. Undoubtedly, this is a fantastic chance for the rookie to take charge, call the defense, and assist in occupying the space created by Anzalone’s probable absence.

He is an all-around ambitious guy. He wants no one to think, “Dude, this job description is too much for me.” He hasn’t missed a beat out there and wants all of it. He’s been excellent.”
