“They Prepared Better,” the Lions Declared Following Their Loss to the Packers.
Just preparation was what made the game versus the Packers challenging. This game, they were more prepared than we were. The good news is that we continue to fight to the very end, I suppose. And really, that’s all you could really want.”
Dan Campbell
Regarding Lions quarterback Jared Goff’s recent turnovers: “Well, I think that you feel like we’re a little bit behind with some of these, and maybe that’s the reason behind some of it.” We simply feel a little uneasy. All we need to do is return to our normal activities and play a little more rhythmically.
“We’re not going to lose our minds over this. I’ll just be looking at a few items for a bit to see where we can improve our efficiency. However, this is the same squad that has been here the entire season, with Goff at quarterback and the defense and offense. After we clear up a few problems, I believe we’ll find our rhythm again and be OK.
Regarding if he feels that they are now viewed as the hunter or the hunted: “Yeah, possibly. Well, we have had some success thus far. Before today, we were 8-3 and 8-2, so certainly, teams will do their hardest to beat us. We are in charge of our division. This opponent belongs to a division. They performed admirably and arrived prepared to play. I’m not sure if it affects how we play the game.
We continue to hunt a great deal. We continue to seek for the top spot in our division overall and everything else we can find after that, but it will be a long road, and we would prefer to remain on the offensive in our hunt for the goals we have in mind.
Jahmyr Gibbs
“We always come in wanting to win, but sometimes they end up like that,” was the response given following the Packers’ defeat. However, we are in charge of what we can. Therefore, we simply need to execute the small things better and avoid giving the ball away.”
Regarding the root cause of some of the execution problems: “I believe it was largely self-inflicted. But give them a shout-out. Still, they performed admirably, particularly on defense. With our details, we could have prevented some of that, but we failed to act.”
Derrick Barnes
Regarding Dan Campbell taking responsibility for the botched fake punt: “To be honest, I never hold coaches or anybody else accountable for the call.” Because, you know, as long as it was done correctly, it doesn’t matter what he felt was proper.
However, that’s one of those situations where the defense will surface, so you’ll need to be prepared. As we previously stated, give it more time, force a turnover, recover the ball, and do all in our power to force a field goal. That is essentially the defense’s point of view. Simply keep them out of the end zone.
Jordan Love
Regarding how the Packers’ opening play of the game set the tone: “Yeah. Is it Thursday already? We’ve known since Wednesday, so whatever we added this week that we were confident would work came out you know, clearly threw the ball up there, and Christian Watson got up there and made a fantastic catch.
