Alex Van Pelt, formerly of the Browns, is going to the Patriots.
With the departure of the Browns’ offensive coordinator of the previous four seasons following the season, Van Pelt has found success. He will now likely take the helm in New England after joining Jerrod Mayo’s team.
Van Pelt is joining a head coach who is defensively inclined, so this could be his chance to finally call plays. What a terrific place. The Patriots also possess the third overall pick, which will probably be utilized to select the quarterback of the future, whom AVP will train.
Since Van Pelt has coached quarterbacks for most of his coaching career, the Patriots’ offer to develop a young, gifted player likely drew him in. I personally wish him the best of luck and am interested in following his exploits in New England. He had a nice run with Kevin Stefanski and the Browns.
