Cole Shelton and Kevin Dotson are expected to become free agents for the Rams.
Among them are the Los Angeles Rams, who have been in negotiations with Coleman Shelton and Kevin Dotson, two important players whose contracts are up soon.
Although Les Snead, the general manager of the Rams, would like to see both players return, he does not believe that they will sign an extension before the start of free agency next month.
Snead expects both players to test the market and see what’s available, despite having spoken with each player’s representative, he told reporters on Wednesday.
That, in his opinion, might help determine Dotson and Shelton’s asking price, which should pique the curiosity of other clubs.Dotson was the Rams’ top lineman in 2023 after they acquired him in a trade with the Steelers in the offseason. After having a stellar season with the Rams, he was among the best guards in the NFL and is expected to get a sizable increase this offseason.
Conversely, Shelton signed a two-year contract last offseason with the option to nullify the final year provided he played fifty-five percent of the snaps, which he did. This will enable him to enter free agency and discover what offers he receives from other organizations.
The Rams are taking a chance by letting both try their luck, but it’s obvious that they want to bring them back for the best deal.
