Reactions on social media to Iowa’s triumph over Penn State and The Hannah Stuelke Game
Hannah Stuelke, a sophomore forward, was the one in instead. And for at least one night, it wasn’t really close after what the 6-foot-2 forward from Cedar Rapids did.
Stuelke was just unstoppable, breaking her previous career high with 47 points on 17 of 20 shots. She was earning visits to the foul line when she wasn’t making baskets.
Stuelke had a fantastic game, making 13 out of 21 free throws. In addition, she got a steal, nine rebounds, and a block on a shot.
That’s what everyone has been waiting for, in my opinion. She’s shown flashes of being that amazing, but we all know how talented she is, and I’m just happy for her. She puts in a lot of effort in her work. She has worked so hard, particularly this summer.
I’ve been battling a minor knee problem, but being able to perform like that here is just what we needed. After the game, Clark remarked of Stuelke, “I think she dominated, and to see her confidence grow like that and her smile like that, you know, as a teammate, you’re just really happy.”
In the process, Iowa (22-2, 11-1 Big Ten) defeated Penn State 111-93 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena to win its fourth straight game.
The Hawkeyes will now prepare for their Sunday noon game against Nebraska. Let’s look back at how Hawkeye social media celebrated Stuelke’s historic night against the Nittany Lions before Iowa travels to Husker country.
