Ryan Reynolds is shocked to learn that Wrexham’s restrooms contained cocaine residue three times.
Three matchdays had officers tested for the Class A substance, according to information obtained through a Freedom of Information request.
At the Welsh club’s 10,700-seat Racecourse Ground last year, police conducted three separate investigations to check for traces of the Class-A narcotic. Last February, during games against Wealdstone Athletic and Dorking Wanderers, as well as two months later during the match against Oldham Athletic, there were traces of cocaine linked to football-related violence discovered on the field.
It happened following the 2022 Boxing Day game, when a spectator was observed sniffing powder in the restrooms. After admitting to having cocaine, he was fined and prohibited from attending matches for three years.”Unfortunately, it has become commonplace for men to associate drinking alcohol and doing cocaine with watching football games,” stated Lee Fernandes of the UK Addiction Treatment Group.
Fans may become aggressive when they combine their use of cocaine with alcohol and the extra adrenaline from the thrill of the football game.
After cocaine-fueled violence disrupted England’s Euro final match against Italy in December 2021, a Sun investigation discovered signs of the drug in the grounds of several clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City, Spurs, and Chelsea.
It is known that certain police departments have begun to utilize sniffer dogs outside of venues to try to stop spectators from bringing illicit narcotics inside.
