“Who is keeping count?” – As the superstar from Portugal and Al-Nassr gets closer to reaching 1,000 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo sends a goal message to opponents.
With five Ballons d’Or to his credit, the ageless frontman made a world-record 54 attempts for club and nation in 2023. Since then, he has celebrated his 39th birthday, and in the last third, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
Ronaldo, who has already scored 20 goals in the Saudi Pro League this season, was back among the goals in Al-Nassr’s narrow 1-0 victory over Al Feiha in the first leg of their AFC Champions League last-16 match.
At the club level, the all-time great has played in over 1,000 games and scored 746 goals. In his 205 Portugal appearances, he has also found the target 128 times, a record. Ronaldo shared a new celebration and asked, “Who’s counting?” on social media after hitting the net once more.
RONALDO’S FUTURE AIMINGS?
Ronaldo seems to have no end in sight; he plans to continue playing far into his 40s and has yet to retire from the international scene. Hence, it seems inevitable that he will eventually surpass the coveted 1,000-goal milestone and add another chapter to the annals of history.
