The dragon monster was crafted by a teenage blacksmith and named after the Wrexham AFC legend.
Dixie the Dragon is the most recent artwork produced by the two cousins. When they created their own blacksmith shop during the first COVID lockdown in 2020, at the ages of barely 12 and 13, respectively, they made headlines around the world.
Since then, they have created a number of designs to support charitable causes, such as the flood relief efforts in Pakistan and the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Their efforts were recognised with a coveted Child of Wales award last year.
With the help of their most recent design, Ollie, 16, and Harvey, 15, are collecting money for Nightingale House Hospice in anticipation of the third season of the Welcome to Wrexham television series.
In addition to asking for money outside of a Wrexham AFC home game, they also intend to take Dixie “on tour” throughout Wrexham to various venues, and Nightingale House has consented to go with them.
Between 1977 and 1822, Dixie McNeil made 167 appearances for the Reds, scoring 54 goals in the league. From 1985 to 1989, he managed the team.
