NEW: Get to know Mel Raines, the CEO of the Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers have appointed Mel Raines as their new president and CEO. Raines has been employed with Pacers Sports & Entertainment since 2015, when she was appointed President and COO Officer. She will succeed the retiring Rick Fuson.
She also served as the President of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

Mel Raines was involved in Super Bowl planning before to the NBA.
Raines was an integral component in the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl from 2009 to 2012. She handled 14 planning committees while serving as the vice president of government relations and event operations, according to her LinkedIn page.
Mel Raines was the former chief of staff to Congresswoman Susan Brooks.
Raines managed all legislative, constituent services, and communications personnel in addition to three offices for Brooks during his tenure, which lasted from November 2012 to January 2015.
Mel Raines participated at several Republican National Conventions while working for Dick Cheney.
Raines began her career in politics as an employee of former U.S. Senator Dan Coats of Indiana. She thereafter contributed to six Republican National Conventions in a variety of capacities. She also served as Vice President Dick Cheney’s political affairs assistant.
